Good progress was made this past week, even with taking a few days for a nice vacation and birthday celebration with my in-laws. A few details below (this post is short due to time constraints):
Riveted top skin to spar and ribs (right flap):
Clecoed bottom skin to right flap, and checked angle of hinges (<0.1deg between them):
Riveted bottom skin to right flap and nose skin to nose ribs:
Blind-riveted nose skin to nose ribs:
RIGHT SPAR! Started match-drilling lower j-channels:
Match-drilled upper j-channels:
Flipped and finished match-drilling lower j-channels:
Riveted right fuel tank attach nutplates:
Countersunk all holes in both spar flanges:
Masked both flanges:
Other side:
Primed all countersunk holes, both sides:
Attached bellcrank brackets:
Straightened, fluted, final-drilled, deburred holes, deburred edges, and dimpled all 14 ribs. This took a LOT of time this week:
Fitted torque tube bracket:
Match-drilled flap hinge attach brackets to the 3rd and 8th ribs (counted from the inboard side):
